Unified Bank has been instrumental in the Daily Bread's success through continued support in the form of paying operational expenses for the non-profit, thus allowing for 100% of donations to go back out into serving the community
Unified puts “community” in community banking. As a community bank, Unified strives to create better lives and futures for the people and communities they proudly serve. According to Unified President, CEO & Chairman Scott Everson, “We at Unified do our best to provide for our communities in such a way as to contribute strategically so we can help as many people in need as physically possible,” Everson said.
Signs around town illustrate Unified’s continued support of community projects such as Fodor Field, the Martins Ferry Recreation Center, the new Splash Pad at the City pool, and the many festivals throughout the City. But it is behind the scenes where Unified quietly reaches out to provide much-needed support to everyday people, some perhaps a bit down on their luck. One such endeavor would be Unified’s continued financial support of the Martins Ferry Daily Bread Center on N. Zane Highway.
Every year Unified provides the Daily Bread Center with over $7,000.00 in operations funding. The Daily Bread Center serves over 15,000 meals a year, reaching approximately 2,250 households, including seniors and children. The Daily Bread Center is a 501c3 non-profit serving food to families in the Martins Ferry School District area in conjunction with the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Clients register with the Daily Bread Center and are given the required income standards to sign to verify that their income falls within the guidelines provided by the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.
Lisa Bell, Director of the Daily Bread Center, said, “Unified Bank has been and continues to be an important supporter of the Daily Bread Center.” “I can’t imagine us operating without their generous and much-appreciated assistance,” added Bell.
Unified Bank is a full-service FDIC-insured, state-chartered commercial bank headquartered in Martins Ferry, OH and has eighteen locations that serve the Ohio counties of Athens, Belmont, Carroll, Fairfield, Harrison, Hocking, Jefferson and Tuscarawas and Marshall County in West Virginia. Unified Bank is the sole operating subsidiary of United Bancorp, Inc.
