Kayla Voytecek Awarded 2022 James Everson Scholarship

Martins Ferry High School Senior Kayla Voytecek is the winning recipient of the 2022 James Everson Scholarship. The one-thousand-dollar scholarship is awarded each year to a Martins Ferry High School student who has maintained a high GPA, is planning to attend college, and is interested in a business career.

Unified Bank Chairman, President, and CEO Scott Everson said, “The James Everson Scholarship is awarded yearly by Unified Bank. My father, James Everson, former President of Unified Bank, whom the Scholarship is named after, always had a desire to help create better lives and futures for promising youth in the Martins Ferry Area”  “Creating better lives and futures for the people and communities we proudly serve is an essential part of Unified’s mission,” Everson added.

Voytecek learned of the James Everson Scholarship through her high school guidance counselor. She supplied a critical essay and was selected after a careful review of all candidates. Voytecek plans to attend Ohio University Eastern, where she will major in business administration. She commented, “I am very honored to have been chosen for the James Everson Scholarship, and I thank my guidance counselor for telling me about it and the people who chose me for this honor.” “I’m also a customer of Unified Bank and have always been pleased with the service and welcoming environment,” Voytecek added.
