New Digital Scoreboard St. Clairsville Girls Softball

In 1973, seventeen area girls competed as part of the new Girls Softball Team at St. Clairsville High School. St. C girls competed in and won their first tournament in 1975 against Wheeling High School. In 1977, St. C Schools presented their first ever Girls Softball MVP award to Barb Gessel. Recently, the St. C Girls Team opened their season in their newly renovated St. C field, complete with a new digital scoreboard provided by Unified Bank. 

 
St C Softball competes in the OVAC Class 4A each year. They are also members of the Buckeye 8 Conference. Typically, there are about 15-20 girls on the Team each season. When Unified Bank leadership learned that the Team didn’t have a functioning scoreboard, they decided they would help. Working with Luke Nelson, St. C Athletic Director, a new digital scoreboard was obtained and installed at the field.

This addition is very important in supporting the student-athletes, coaches, and fans. It's very nice to know what the score, inning, and ball/strike count is when you attend a game.  We haven't had that for quite a while at the field.  I am so impressed and appreciative of this new project and the great benefits it brings to St.C,” said Luke Nelson, Athletic Director.
